Reading drought.

Recently I’ve been going through a bit of a reading drought. I’ve got a stack of books next to my bed, and a fantastic library just up the road, but for the past few months, all the books I’ve read have been a bit ‘meh’.

And then I picked up this:

It’s the second in a series, and while I liked the first one, I’m absolutely LOVING this .

In fact this book is so good that it’s distracting me from the view.

Which book saved you from a reading drought?

  1. This is a great question. I get bogged down in these reading droughts every few months. A couple that have gotten me moving recently are Tropic of Cancer and Station Eleven…

  2. I avoid a drought by the three chapter rule…if I really haven’t been hooked I abandon ship and move on. Just finished Patrick Ness “the Rest Of Us Just Live Here” – have heard mixed reports on this but I LOVED it. Clever and funny.

  3. Well, you wouldn’t believe this, but, War & Peace is the one I’m reading at the moment, and I can barely put it down. 🙂

I only thing that is stopping me from reading it more, is the fact that I have 2 stories on the go, War & Peace is a BIG book. 🙂

  4. Yeah, maybe that’s one of my problems – I’m slow to give up on a book once I’ve started it. Maybe I need to start to observe the 3 chapter rule.
War and Peace – that’s on my very long to-read list.
