I hope you’ve all had a fab start to the new term! It certainly feels like all change round here.
Freddie started school today! Behold the cuteness…
And Holly tells me she wants to start horse riding. Quite exciting for me, that, as I love riding and am lucky enough to get to ride these gorgeous horses, Rosie and Midnight. Again with the cuteness…
My new Exciting Thing is that I’m about to start writing a book. I know – hold the front page: Author Writes Book! But it really is exciting for me, because since I finished the Rainbow Beauty trilogy in the summer of 2013, I haven’t sat down and written a ‘big’ book.
‘So, what have you been doing?’ I hear you ask. ‘Just, what, dancing and riding and swimming and doing yoga and scoffing Crunchies and walking on the heath with Lottie The Wonderdog and going to the cinema??? Well, ahem, yes, actually. But I’ve also been writing a screenplay for a movie, playing around with some younger fiction and developing this new trilogy.
I don’t want to say too much about it just yet, but I can tell you that it’s YA, for girls and young women mainly (probably!) and it’s about self-empowerment and is full of that type of magic that’s just at the borders of reality. It started as a collage, then became a sort of book trailer/short film (I made that to catch the essence of it and inspire myself) and then I wrote the first book as a screenplay, and now I’m ready to write the book. I’m all fired up to have a draft ready by Christmas, so wish me luck!
I hope you’re all doing something new and exciting this autumn too!
