Hello! Last month I promised I’d let you know how I got on at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Well, it was a crazy, crazy time. You have never seen so many people in one place. The entire convention centre was heaving with comic, book, TV, film and toys fan.
I appeared on a couple of panels and signed lots of my Doctor Who comics, while also finding time to check out some of the great stuff at the show – including lots and lots and lots of LEGO.
Now, that would have taken more than a few hours to build, wouldn’t it? The Stormtrooper that is, not me!
One of the highlights of the show were the amazing home-made costumes people wore. I though I’d share some of my favourites with you. A few of the photos are a bit blurry as they were very quickly snapped, so I apologise in advance.
That’s the planet-chomping baddy Galactus from Marvel Comics, with the cosplayer’s son as the Silver Surfer!
From DC Comics this time, an amazing Hawkgirl. Check out those cool wings!
And one of my favourite villains from Batman – Harley Quinn!
It’s amazing who you see wandering around, like this awesome Transformer. It was a really hot day. They must have been baking underneath all of that!
There was also lots of mash-ups, such as…
…the Spectacular Spider-Cap!
And Admiral Ackbar the Ghostbuster!
Meet the Mario Dalek brothers. And, finally…
The weirdest Wookies you’ve ever seen!
I didn’t wear a costume myself. Perhaps I should next time!
