Today’s crafty Advent make requires:
- one empty glass jar (eg jam, baby food, syrup)
- PVA glue and painbrush
Wash your jar so that there are no traces of the label. Dry it thoroughly. Now mix your PVA glue with a bit of water, to make it easier to ‘paint’ with. Dip your paintbrush into the glue mixture and paint all over the INSIDE of the jar – like this:
Tip your glitter into the jar and give it a good roll-around (you CAN shake it but make sure you put a lid on it first!!), so that the inside is completely coated:
Now tip out the excess glitter onto a sheet of paper and then funnel it back into your glitter pot (ready for use again!). Leave the jar to dry.
Once dry, tie a ribbon around the top, add a tealight candle, and voila! One sparkly Christmas candle jar!
ALWAYS BLOW OUT A CANDLE BEFORE LEAVING THE ROOM!
(by the way, the other two candles in the top picture are bought – but I think my homemade one is the nicest!)
Ooh – and I got this idea from the Cakerypapery blog (where you can see pics of jars done with silver glitter).
