Ask Eva

It’s time to be excited – only five more sleeps until World Book Day 2013.

This year I had the great honour of being asked to write a special World Book Day book. This put me in the company of some of my heroes – A.A.Milne, Shirley Hughes, Cathy Cassidy and many more – so no pressure there!!!!!

In writing, as in life, when things get tough, it’s nice to be able to rely on old friends. So for my World Book Day book, I decided to write about Eva. Only trouble was, I’m used to writing 35,000 word books about her, and I struggled to tell a meaningful story in the WBD format, which had to be much shorter. In the end though, I managed to fit two complete stories into the shortest book I’ve ever written – must be some kind of special World Book Day magic!
